CFK cancels attendance to ceremony over hailstorm

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner canceled her attendance to a ceremony in Ezeiza due to the strong hailstorm on Monday.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner was flying to Ezeiza when the helicopter pilot decided to bring her back to the Government House due to the strong hail storm that hit the Buenos Aires metropolitan area.

The chopper landed after 6 pm, when hail had already started to fall in downtown Buenos Aires.

According to sources, the Government House staff gathered in awe around the Patio de las Palmeras as they saw the large-seized hailstones falling over the building.

Fernández de Kirchner was scheduled to inaugurate the new Ezeiza Holiday Inn hotel. Despite her absence, the ceremony began at 6:33 PM, and it was headed by Development Minister Alicia Kirchner.
