Bielsa 100% focus on Athletic; plays down Inter move
Athletic Club Bilbao coach Marcelo Bielsa has played down rumours indicating a possible move to San Ciro to lead Internazionale, insisting that he doesn’t want to discuss his future at what is a crucial point in the season for the “Leones”.
The Argentine is currently the most wanted coach of all Europe after his side's thrilling 5-3 aggregate win over reigning Premier League champions Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League. And moreover after Barcelona's coach Pep Guardiola labeled Bielsa as “the best coach on the planet.”
It has been claimed that Inter’s president Massimo Moratti is desperate to hire the man he allegedly first approached about moving last June but with that Basque side currently pushing hard to qualify for the Champions League, Bielsa is reluctant to discuss his plans beyond the end of the season.
“I do not want to talk about my new contract. It is a question that makes me uncomfortable”, the former Argentina boss told reporters.
Likewise, “El Loco” said “All evaluations should be taken at the end of the season. Right now we just have to think about the fact that we are in the running for all three competitions.”
Athletic currently sit seventh in La Liga, will play Schalke in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and are due to take on Barcelona in the final of the Copa del Rey.
