Lanús beat Emelec, renews hopes in Libertadores

Argentina''s Lanus forward Mariano Pavone (3-R) celebrates with teammates after scoring a goal against Ecuador''s Emelec during their Copa Libertadores 2012 group 2 football match.

Lanús defeated Ecuador's Emelec 1-0 in the match for the Group 2 of the Libertadores de América Cup, and renewed its hopes to achieve the next round of the Tournament.

Mariano Pavone opened the score at 26' of the second half of the game.

Lanús: Agustín Marchesín; Carlos Araujo, Paolo Goltz, Diego Braghieri and Luciano Balbi; Eduardo Ledesma, Matías Fritzler, Guido Pizarro and Diego Valeri; Juan Neira and Mariano Pavone. Coach: Gabriel Schurrer.
