Macri blames Nacional Gov't for motorway roadblocks

City Mayor Mauricio Macri.
City Mayor Mauricio Macri deemed the national government responsible for having converted the Capital into “The City of Fury,” yesterday due to the 12-hour roadblock staged by Villa 31 slum residents on the Illia highway, which caused traffic chaos.

When consulted over the possibility that the national government had played a part in the roadblock, Macri simply stated that “anything is possible.”

“The Federal Police arrive to the place and instead of ordering they evacuate the area and make the protestors abide by the law, they escorted away those who were breaking the law,” said the mayor.

"The City of Fury it should be called, shouldn’t it?" Macri said, referring to band Soda Stereo’s hit song, when trying to paint a picture of what it was like to move across the Capital throughout Friday.
