Del Potro advances in Dubai, to face Federer in semis

Juan Martín Del Potro defeated French Jo-Wilfried Tsonga by 7-6 (7-1) and 6-2 in the quarter-finals of the Dubai Tennis Championship to set up a meeting with Swiss Roger Federer in the last four.

The ten-seeded player defeated Tsonga (5), who he had already beaten in five out of six opportunities.

The player from Tandil City had won over the French at New Haven 2007, Shangai Master 2008, Roland Garros 2009 and at the Marseille’s semis, while he lost at the Vienna 2001 final.

Del Potro will now face Federer at the semi-finals.
