'It would seem I'm only President when I speak in public,' CFK

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner regretted some of the criticism towards her echoed by the media over the time she took to address the Once railway tragedy. “It seems I’m only President when I speak in public, and the truth is I am the President 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” she stated.

“I won’t be speaking in public tomorrow, but I will still be President and will still be in power,” she assured, and added: “I’m saying this for those who are now playing dumb. But don’t worry, if I speak they criticize me. And if I don’t…”

Fernández de Kirchner made these statements during a ceremony at the Government House on Tuesday afternoon.
