Supermarket sales soar 16.5% in January

Supermarket sales soared 16.5 percent in January compared to the volume registered the same month last year, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The official agency also reported that it has increased 3 percent against December 2011.

Meanwhile, the prices registered a 9.7 percent increase during the first month of the 2012 year-on-year.
