National teachers’ wage talks fail
Education Minister Alberto Sileoni.
National Education Minister Alberto Sileoni announced that the teachers’ union “did not accept the offer made,” during a press conference. Meanwhile, members of the unions announced that they “don’t rule out going on strike.”
The fifth national collective bargaining talk was set to determine the salaries’ floor for the country’s teachers.
The head of CTERA, Stella Maldonado, said after the meeting that they could apply measures that would affect the normal beginning of classes.
