Pope Benedict XVI sends condolence letter to relatives of train crash victims

Pope Benedict XVI sent a letter to Argentine Church's Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio expressing to be "profoundly afflicted" by yesterday' s Once train crash in which 50 people lost their lives, and giving his condolences to all relatives and victims.   

In a communiqué sent to the Bergoglio, the Pope asks “all mighty God for the a peaceful rest of those who perished in the accident”

Likewise, the letter asks Bergoglio to please give all relatives of the victims the “Supreme Pontiff’’s condolences and profound respects.”

“Taking the Lord’s resurrection as a sign of hope, hereby, the successor of Peter sends a special apostolic blessing to you all in this times of sadness.”  

The letter was signed by the Vatican’s State Secretary Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone and delivered through Monsignor Robert Murphy.
