Judge orders blood test for Once train's motorman
Judge Claudio Bonadío in charge of the Sarmiento line train crash’s case issued an order to run tests seeking for possible presence of alcohol in the blood torrent of motorman Marco Antonio Córdoba , who remains hospitalized at the intensive care unit of the Fitz Roy Clinic in the City neighbourhood of Villa Crespo.
According to Federal Police Sarmiento Division, a sample of blood was taken from Córdoba as soon as he arrived to the Fitz Roy Clinic.Meanwhile, railway union leader Rubén “pollo” Sobrero told reporters that union members as well himself wanted to talk to Córdoba in order to find out what happened but it was not possible as “he’s still at the intensive care unit”, and added, “He was seriously injured and his health condition comes first. Fortunately he is stable.”
Asked about the possible cause of the accident that caused 50 dead and 703 injured people, Sobrero promptly discard the hypothesis of the motorman being distracted with a cell phone while pulling the train into Once Central Station.
