'I flew 15 metres forward due to the impact,' says Once crash victim
The accident that saw a Sarmiento line train crash into the platform at Once station this morning and left some 340 people injured, affected hundreds of people on their morning commute. One of the passengers named Fabián, stated to press, “I flew 15 forward due to the impact. I had people piled on top of me, none of us could move.”
Another survivor who was also travelling on the train when it crashed said, “it felt like the train wasn’t going to stop, and that’s when we felt the impact.” They also added that “there were loads of people screaming and people were desperately scrambling out of the carriages.”
One of the injured passengers travelling in the fourth carriage commented on the train’s speed at the time of the crash. “It was coming in fast, it wasn’t moving at the speed it normally would when pulling into the station.” The man added at “there were people who trapped in their seats. It was a terrible sight.”
Another survivor who was also travelling on the train when it crashed said, “it felt like the train wasn’t going to stop, and that’s when we felt the impact.” They also added that “there were loads of people screaming and people were desperately scrambling out of the carriages.”
