US Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William R. Brownfield.
US Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs William R. Brownfield warned on Friday that drug trafficking to Europe, Argentina and Brazil was on the rise.
“Traffickers are searching for new markets. First within the South American market – Brazil and Argentina – and second, they are building new markets in Europe,” Brownfield said during his visit to Sofia.
The US government official was on a visit to Bulgaria as part of a general visit where he is accompanying US Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns in a series of visits they are making across Eastern Europe in order to meet with senior officials on bilateral and regional issues.
