Gov't rejects espionage accusations

Security Minister Nilda Garré.

Security Minister Nilda Garré came on stage on Friday to make it clear that the government “denies espionage claims and if any are uncovered we remain inflexible.”

These were the first statements made in response to accusations made by opposition politicians that the Border Guard was carrying out spy activities on leaders of social movements and unions across the country under the operation codenamed “Project X”.

The head of the Security Ministry took to social network Twitter today to debate the topic with other users where she stated, “before fueling or adventuring in speculations, I’ve ordered an audit of Project X,” where she also said that the operation was really a software program. The investigation put forward said it would be evaluating the content.
