FATF praises Argentina's 'outstanding progress' against money laundering activities
Justice and Human Rights Minister Julio Alak announced in Paris that the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) had “unanimously congratulated Argentina over its outstanding progress on matters such as control, prevention and punishment of money laundering activities.”
FATF president Giancarlo Del Bufalo praised Argentina’s “great progress,” Alak said in a press release.
“I believe Argentina has made significant progress” in the fight against money laundering, the minister later told the press who was present covering the meeting taking place in the Parisian headquarters of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
On Thursday, and on behalf of the National Government, Alak presented FATF authorities with the country’s efforts and advances to stop money laundering activities.
The minister led an Argentine delegation in the French capital, which included Criminal Policy Under Secretary Juan Martín Mena and the head of the Financial Information Unit José Sbatella.
