Godoy Cruz beat Peñarol in first leg
Footballer Luis Aguiar (R) of Uruguay''s team Peñarol is marked by Nicolas Sanchez of Argentina''s Godoy Cruz, during their Libertadores Cup match held at the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza.
Godoy Cruz defeated Uruguay's Peñarol, 2011 runner-up, 1-0 in its debut at the Libertadores de América Cup 2012 in the match for the Group 8.
Diego Villar netted Godoy Cruz's goal only 6' after the beginning of the second half of the game. Six minutes later, Peñarol's Alejandro González was sent off and the Uruguayan team was left with ten men.
