BA province to begin collective bargaining with teachers, state workers

The Buenos Aires province government has summoned representatives from the teachers’ and provincial workers’ unions in order to begin the collective bargaining talks this Thursday, the provincial labour ministry announced.
“By order of governor Daniel Scioli, we summon for this Thursday the teachers’ and state workers’ sectors to begin collective bargaining talks in order to negotiate the 2012 salary reconfiguration,” labour ministry spokesman Oscar Cuartango.
The provincial government made the announcement after a meeting between cabinet members with the governor’s cabinet chief, Alberto Pérez.
Teachers’ unions are expected to arrive at 11 am, while state workers’ unions will be meeting with the provincial authorities at 3 pm.
