Fernández de Kirchner announces 17.6% hike for pensioners
During a televised speech from the Government House, President Fernández de Kirchner announced a 17.62 percent hike for pensioners after March. She reported that the minimum pension will go from $1,434 to $1,686 pesos and assured that Argentina is the country “with the largest pensions system” in the world.
She indicated that almost seven million people are registered as pensioners in the country.
She also announced that last month’s tax collection levels reached a new record after gathering $52.8 billion pesos.
Social Security collection levels also reached record levels, with a historic collection of $16.3 billion pesos.
She also denied that her administration is looking to put a roof to the collective bargaining talks this year, adding that unions are supposed to engage in bargain talks “freely” while talking into account each company’s profit.
