At least 73 killed in Egypt football pitch invasion, Gov't says

At least 73 people were killed after a football pitch invasion in the Egyptian city of Port Said, health ministry sources said, raising the official estimate of the death count from 50.

Soon after reports of the pitch invasion spread, Egyptian television showed images of a fire in Cairo's football stadium, after the referee cancelled a match between the teams Zamalek and Ismaili.

The authorities from Egypt's Football Federation announced they would "indefinitely delay" any Premier League matches due to the intense violence.
