Riquelme is happy: 'Now I can run, before I couldn't even walk'

After a long injury-spell, Boca Juniors playmaker Juan Román Riquelme will once again step into a football field on tomorrow’s Copa Argentina game against Santamarina (Tandil) to be played in the Northern province of Salta.   

A Plantar fasciitis put Riquelme aside for quite a long time. Former Barcelona’s midfielder played his last entire game on October 16 against Belgrano for the Apertura Tournament. Then Return on December just to play a few minutes against Banfield when Boca clinched the Apertura Tournament.  
 
“I’m happy because now I can run. Last semester was terrible, I couldn’t even walk.”

Likewise, Riquelme indicated to be “lucky for having completed the whole pre-season trainings without feeling any pains on my foot. No w I only hope for the ball to do what I want it to do”, he joked.

Asked about tomorrow’s game, Riquelme called it “the most important game of 2012 so far”, thus giving less importance to all previous matches, which were friendlies -even the two Superclásicos against River Plate.
 
According to this morning’s practice, Coach Julio César Falcioni might line up the following men: Agustín Orión; Facundo Roncaglia, Rolando Schiavi, Juan Manuel Insaurralde, Clemente Rodríguez; Diego Rivero, Leandro Somoza, Walter Erviti; Juan Román Riquelme; Darío Cvitanich, Nicolás Blandi.
