Ferreres: Industrial output gains 4.8% in 2011

The industrial output grew 4.8 percent last year compared to the volume registered in 2010, according to Orlando J. Ferreres’ Industrial Production Index.

The private agency also stated that the industry showed a 1.3 percent drop in December year-on-year and the same figure against November.

“The car production was the main responsible for the positive result. Nevertheless, the contraction of the Brazilian industry shocked the country,” it stated.
