Barrionuevo says Moyano 'has an expiration date'

The head of the Restaurant Workers Union, Luis Barrionuevo, assured that CGT leader Hugo Moyano “was a partner in all of the Government’s business,” adding that the unionist “has an expiration date.” 

“If he doesn’t start protesting against this Government, he should quit as head of the CGT,” he said.

“We must choose a new CGT secretary general who is ready for what’s coming. By June, Moyano will have an expiration date” on his head, Barrionuevo assured. 

Speaking as a guest on a radio show, the unionist assured that “if a secretary general has no dialogue with the Government, then he must definitely clash with it. If not, it’s time to quit.” 

“There’s no doubt that Moyano will begin drafting a protest plan by March if he doesn’t get any response to his claims,” he stated, but then he warned that “he is obligated to do so.”

“If he doesn’t, he will have to step down as head of the CGT.” 

He assured that he is willing to support any union protests lead y Moyano, but insisted on criticizing his career.

After saying that Moyano “was a partner in all of the Government’s business” he assured that “even after Néstor Kirchner’s death ministers were following his orders.” 

“Since Kirchner’s death, I see the same Cristina Fernández de Kirchner that I got to know back when she was in the Senate. A woman who is against unions, governors and mayors of the Greater Buenos Aires areas,” he said.

He concluded by warning that the new floor for this year’s collective bargaining talks would be of 25 percent.
