Coach overturns in Santiago del Estero: 1 dead, 16 injured

A 56-year-old woman was killed and sixteen people injured after a coach overturned today in Santiago del Estero province. The vehicle was driving along national motorway Route 34 from Buenos Aires to Jujuy when the accident occurred, police officials informed.

The incident took place at around 5.30 am this morning between Garza and Lugones towns, some 110km southeast of the Santiago del Estero capital.

Local police working at the scene of the crash revealed that one of the passengers, Amelia Maite, aged 56 from Buenos Aires, died while being taken to a local hospital to be treated for her wounds.
