Buenos Aires stocks close higher

Buenos Aires stocks opened higher, with the Merval benchmark stock index edging up by 1.4 percent, to 2,819.25 points.

Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk fell by 1.6 percent to 856 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
