Passengers ride for free on fourth day of subway protests

Many commuters travelled for free today, as union workers left turnstiles open in protest against the new subway ticket hike.

Demonstrators staged their fourth day of protests over the City Government’s recent decision to a 127% hike in the subway fare. Passengers were allowed to ride the subway for free from 7 am to 10 am, and will be allowed to do so again this afternoon from 4 pm to 7 pm.

The protests were taking place in the A Line’s Carabobo and Plaza Miserere stations, the B Line’s Los Incas and Lacroze stations, the C Line’s Constitución and Retiro stations, Line D’s Congreso de Tucumán y Juramento stations, Line E’s Bolívar and Plaza de los Virreyes stations and H Line’s Once station.

From 4 pm to 7 pm this afternoon, the measure will be repeated in the A Line’s Plaza de Mayo and Perú stations, the B Line’s Alem and Florida stations, the C Line’s Retiro and Constitución stations, the E Line’s Plaza de los Virreyes and Bolívar stations and the H Line’s Once station.

The protests are scheduled to continue until this Friday.
