Drought: Yauhar says no special funds will be created

Agriculture Minister Norberto Yauhar called to “calm down with the drama over the situation that’s been left by” the drought and assured that he will not create special funds for the producers.

The minister told the press in Trelew, Chubut province, that the methods to analyze the situation of the productive sector will be ‘surgical,’ after meeting with the city Mayor, Máximo Pérez Catán.

Yauhar ruled out the creation of specific funds to help the affected producers.

The official also confirmed that Thursday’s meeting with the rural organizations in the framework of the Agrarian National Emergency Committee “will be technical, not political.
