City legislators to appeal subway hike
Buenos Aires City legislators from different political parties anticipated they will appeal the 127.2 percent Subway fare increase conducted by the City Mayor Mauricio Macri, and set a press conference tomorrow to express their rejection to the measure.
As reported in a statement signed by Aníbal Ibarra, María Elena Naddeo and Susana Rinaldi (Frente Progresista Popular); and Delia Bisutti and Edgardo Form (Nuevo Encuentro), the rejection will be stated within a press conference to be held on Thursday at 4pm at the City Legislature. Once there, legislators will also report on the filing of an appeal to stop the rise.
BA City Auditor Eduardo Epszteyn will also be present at the press conference along with Legal representative of Free Consumers Héctor Polino, to express their opposition to the measure adopted by the business tycoon that raises the cost of subway fares from 1.10 to 2.50 pesos from Friday onwards.
