German tourist missing in Río Negro found

The German tourist who went missing Tuesday night in the surroundings of Laguna Azul, in the Meseta de Somuncurá region near the town of Valcheta, was found in good health.

Friederich Karl, 49, was found at 6:30 pm "in good condition," after he had decided to go for a walk and did not return to the area, police sources said.

Karl had gone for a walk after dinner and when his friends noticed he had not returned by the first hours of the day, they decided to go to a police station in Valcheta.

Police officials searched the area on their 4x4s and had brought in dogs from the canine division to assist, and found the tourist "exhausted and disorientated, but in good health," spokesmen stated.

Valcheta is located 320 kilometres away from Viedma, the provincial capital.
