Riquelme hospitalized after suffering abdominal pains

Boca Juniors’ mid-fielder Juan Román Riquelme was hospitalized at the La Trinidad clinic in San Isidro after suffering intense abdominal pain.

The 33-year-old football player remained at the room 205 of the clinic from 6:30pm to 9:15pm to undergo several studies that ruled out a severe condition, medical sources reported.

The doctors at the ER warned that there was presence of liquid in the intestinal area and transferred him to the clinic to run more test.

After the tests, Riquelme returned to his house at Don Torcuato district to continue with his holidays until January 7, when the team will resume the practice.
