Argüello begins term as Argentine Ambassador in US
Jorge Argüello arrived in Washington DC today, where he will start his mission as Argentine ambassador to the US.
Argüello was received in the National Reagan airport by Chartre d affaires of the Embassy, Minister Conrado Solari Yrigoyen and by Bernie Sanders, of the Occidental Hemisphere office of the US State Department.
Argüello was driven to the Argentine Embassy where he held his first meeting with delegation members and had phone calls with all Argentine consul generals in the US.
Minister Mateo Estremé will temporarily replace Argüello as the Argentine representative to the UN, but President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner is expected to announce his permanent replacement in the upcoming months.
Argüello will present his credential letters to US President Barack Obama January 18th in the White House.
