'We must come together in CFK's absence,' Scioli
Buenos Aires province governor, Daniel Scioli highlighted the "courage" shown by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and asked for "more collaboration than ever" ahead of the operation for thyroid cancer the head of state faces in January.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, the governor asked that "during the President’s period of leave we must come together more than ever so that Argentina can continue progressing with force."
Furthermore, Scioli stated, "we have a President with a fighting spirit who is courageous enough to overcome this circumstance," on finding out about the President’s current state of health.
The statements came about after the Government announced that the President had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will be undergoing surgery on January 4 and taking a leave of absence for 20 days.
