Spinetta unveils health conditions via a letter

Musician Luis Alberto Spinetta confirmed through a letter that he has “lung cancer,” but assured he is in good conditions “in the midst of a treatment towards the definite healing.”

The ex leader of well-known bands like Almendra and Pescado Rabioso, stated that those who love him should not “panic, and not to take into account the news that the vultures have generated.”

“Before this storm of uncertain information, I want to publicly state my health conditions,” the 31-year-old singer said in a letter that was published in his son, Dante, Twitter account.

“I know I have lung cancer since the month of July,” he said and highlighted that he is being looked after by his “beloved family, dearest friends and the best doctors we have in the country.”

One of the national Rock & Roll icons added in the letter that he does not have “any social network account, not Twitter, not Facebook, etc; so anything you read about me is false.”

A press information released in the last hours stated that Spinetta was suffering an advanced abdominal cancer, and also indicated that the news had been remained secret due to a petition of the musician’s family.

The information was one of the country’s trending topics in Twitter and triggered the worries of Spinetta’s fans.
