Family held hostage in Moreno

A family was held hostage after being attacked in their own home by a group of armed robbers last night, in Moreno, Buenos Aires Province.

The incident began in the late hours, when one of the robbers confronted a young man who was putting away his car in the garage at his home. After threatening him, the burglar pulled out a gun on the victim, hit him and forced his way into the house.

Shortly after, a car arrived with three other members of the group. According to sources they were trying to take hold of money that was supposedly stored inside the car.

The thieves entered the house, where the man’s parents and brother were eating dinner, taking the family members hostage for around half an hour. During this time, the group managed to pillage jewellery, watches, computers, mobile phones and and a sum of $10 million pesos in cash.
