Buenos Aires stocks close lower

Buenos Aires stocks closed lower, with the Merval benchmark stock index edging down by 1.35 percent, to 2,400.33 points. It has dropped 5 percent this month, and 31.9 percent in 2011 so far.

Meanwhile, Argentina's country-risk fell by 1% to 954 basis points in the JP Morgan EMBI index.
