Foreign tourism drops 4.4% in October

The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during October dropped 4.4 percent compared to the same month in 2010 and totalled 216, 055 people, according to a government report.

During this month, 202,002 Argentine citizens travelled abroad, a 7.3 percent higher than the figures reported on October 2010.

The Indec national statistics bureau said that the expense of tourists in Argentina was of 278.9 million dollars, 2.8 percent increase in comparison with the same month last year.

The total expense of Argentine citizens abroad increased 25.9 percent to 330.2 million dollars.

The information is gathered from the arrivals and departures at Ezeiza and Jorge Newbery airports, which are the main routes of access route to Argentina.
