CGT lawmakers abstain from supporting CFK bill in Congress

Lawmakers Facundo Moyano, Héctor Recalde and Omar Plaini, all members of the Kirchnerite caucus in the Lower House, abstained from signing a bill that looks to reform the statutes of rural workers, sent to Congress by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

However, despite their resistance, Kirchnerite lawmakers managed to clear the bill for debate after garnering additional signatures from allied caucuses. The initiative was discussed in a joint meeting between the committees of Labour Legislation, Budget and Treasure, Previsions and Social Security and Agriculture.

At the same time, the Peronist Front caucus signed a minority report along with the PRO party.

Lawmakers in the Radical and the Broad Progressive Front (FAP) parties also abstained from supporting the bills and said they would discuss them directly on the floor.
