Angelici wins Boca Juniors elections
After 24,524 socios voterd in the Boca Juniors presidential election, opposition candidate Daniel Angelici won the race after obtaining 57 percent of the vote, while incumbent president Jorge Amor Ameal fell behind with 42.51 percent.
The elections pitted current president Jorge Amor Ameal, backed by the national government, against a candidate, Daniel Angelici, who had the expressed backing of Buenos Aires City mayor, Mauricio Macri.
Ameal was seconded by his former rivals turned veep candidates, José Beraldi and Roberto Digón on the Boca Unity Front list. Meanwhile, Angelici counted on the outgoing first vice-president of the City legislature, Oscar Moscariello as his veep on the Half + One list.
