Spanish media say Messi exhausted after match

Messi''s exhaustion makes headlines in Spain.
Argentine player Leonel Messi was exhausted after the Argentina- Colombia match he played as part of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers at Barranquilla Colombia on Tuesday, the Spanish media assured.

Argentina beat Colombia (2-1 victory) in a much disputed game, one goal scored by the Argentine soccer icon.Catalan newspaper Sport said the player arrived exhausted at Barcelona after travelling almost 10.000 kms in three days.

Jetlagged and worn out after a long flight (Barranquilla – Miami –Madrid –Barcelona), Messi arrived at the Spanish city after over 20 hours of flying.

The newspaper also stressed Messi lost four kilograms after playing in a 37 degrees Celsius heat in Colombia leaving him at “the limit of his physical abilities”.

Messi and compatriot Javier Mascherano are back in training befote Barcelona’s next match against Zaragoza on Saturday.
