Former Argentina coach lashes out at Sabella

“If he calls me for a cup of coffee I would give him some advice. But I wouldn’t call him. I never met him,” Menotti explained.

Former Argentina national football team coach Cesar Luis Menotti lashed out at Alejandro Sabella – Argentina´s current coach – during an interview at a local radio show on Wednesday.

Menotti did not rejoice Argentina's victory over Colombia (2-1) and lashed out at Sabella’s choice for the Barranquilla match. “I don’t see any merit in Sabella’s work. I didn’t like the team nor his alterations in the course of the game,” he blasted this morning.

The former coach, nonetheless, praised Messi as the team’s savior. “We were a gutless team until Messi got inspired,” he said.

“If he calls me for a cup of coffee I would give him some advice. But I wouldn’t call him. I never met him,” Menotti explained.
