Burzaco to leave Metropolitan Police in December
Sources within the City Government assured that, after two years in office, the head of the Metropolitan Police, Eugenio Burzaco, will leave his post on December 10th in order to work on the PRO party’s National Board and its plans for 2015.
Sources close to the former lawmaker confirmed that he will abandon the force after two years in office. They also said that Mayor Macri’s office is considering appointing Horacio Giménez, a former police chief who led the Superintendence of Interior and Federal Crimes, to replace him.
Earlier on Tuesday, City Mayor Mauricio Macri and Justice Minister Guillermo Montenegro attended a ceremony in which they thanked Burzaco for his work and gave him a commemorative plaque.
“The Metropolitan Police conveyed pride and dedication since the beginning. Its members are now a part of history and our best way to honour Burzaco is by appreciating what he did while continuing to work with the professionalism and honesty that the force needs,” Macri assured.
