'CFK's stance on abortion is clear,' Arancedo says

Santa Fe archbishop and president-elect of the Argentine Episcopal Conference (CEA) José María Arancedo assured that during the hearing he maintained with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner “she made it abundantly clear that she was against the legalization of abortion.”

“The President has been clear about it, she is not pro-abortion. On the contrary, she is pro-life. It is a complicated issue, but her stance is clear,” he said. 

The new leader of the Argentine church said he welcomed the President’s statements.

As the President was meeting with Arancedo and other members of the Conference’s Executive Board, she expressed her views on abortion. “You know what I think about that,” she said.
