Calderón leads funeral for Mexican Interior Minister
The Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, led today the official funeral for the Mexican Interior Minister Francisco Blake, who died on Friday in a helicopter crash along with seven others.
“Today we say goodbye to Francisco Blake, one of my closest collaborators and friends. With his unexpected departure, our country loses a great human being (…) an honest Mexican and hard worker, loyal patriot to his country and a man dedicated to doing good deed,” said Calderón.
The funeral ceremony took place in Campo Marte in Mexico City, commemorating the lives of the eight victims in the helicopter crash, with the funeral coffins draped with Mexican flags and the photo of each of the victims in front.
Blake Mora, who was a key figure in the country's war on drug cartels, died yesterday in a helicopter crash in Tlamanalco, Mexico state. Seven others died in the accident, that Calderón promised a full probe would be opened to investigate exactly what
happened.
