Vélez reach semi-finals after tough victory

Vélez''s Franco celebrates his first goal with Fernández.

Vélez Sársfield defeated Colombia's Independiente Santa Fe 3-0 and reached the Sudamericana Cup's semi-finals in the second leg played at the José Amalfitani stadium.

Vélez's Guillermo Franco opened the score at 6' of the first half and netted the second goal at 19'. But only a minute after the beginning of the second half, Independiente's Jonathan Copete scored, and his teammate Omar Pérez managed to tie the result at 22'.

Only a minute before the end of the match, Vélez's Juan Manuel Martínez scored a penalty kick and gave his team the passport to the tournament's semi-finals.
