Macri considers Subway administration shift a 'positive move'

Historic national government opposition, Macri signaled a new phase in City and National Government relations.
Buenos Aires Capital city mayor Mauricio Macri considered a ‘positive move’ the transferring of administration of the subway system and the premetro in Buenos Aires to the City by the State government.

“It seems to be it is a positive move to call us to work,” said Macri this morning in a radio interview to a local radio.

He refused, however, to give details on the transferring process. “Let’s hear what the national government has to say, evaluate the situation, work together and see how it goes,” he observed.

Historic national government opposition, Macri signaled a new phase in City and National Government relations. “Let this be the start of a new era of dialogue and expansion for the benefit of the population,” he said.

The national government announcement was made during the press conference given yesterday by Economy Minister Amado Boudou, and Planning Minister Julio De Vido.

Tomorrow a meeting is to take place to “move forward the transference of the subway and premetro transport services in the City of Buenos Aires,” De Vido stated.
