Iran’s Ahmadinejad congratulates CFK, seeks to improve relatonship
Iran’s President, Mahmud Ahmadinejad, sent his regards to President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for last Sunday’s reelection, and insisted on his desire to improve the relationship with Argentina.
Thus, Ahmadinejad congratulated Fernández de Kirchner for “her landslide victory”, and remarked that he expects “to see an improvement in the relationship between the two nations.”
The statements came to cold down the heated relation between the two countries as the Argentine Justice suspects of the existence of links between the Iranian government and the terrorists of that country that blew the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992, and the AMIA Jewish Community Centre. Both attacks caused a total of 114 dead.
