Monday, October 24, 2011'Don't let others take our achievements away from you,' CFK tells youth at Plaza de Mayo
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner spoke before thousands of young followers who convened at the Plaza de Mayo in order to celebrate her reelection, and urged them to “organize themselves” so “no one can take their achievements away from them.”
“I ask all of you to deeply organize all throughout the country in social and student fronts in order to rebuild a political network that expands all over the Argentine territory so we can defend it, and the interests of those who are vulnerable and no one can take our achievements away from you,” she said.
“The future belongs to all of you,” she assured, as she asked the crowds to celebrate that “after eight years of government, young people are waving their flags with joy instead of hatred. With love, love for their country.”
She was joined on stage by her son Máximo Kirchner, Vice-President elect Amado Boudou and other social movement leaders.
The President was seen smiling, waving her hand to the crowd and even dancing to the rhythm of a few songs.
The President recalled that, while “she went through moments of adversity” during her administration, she wanted to “thank the young people who supported and supports this government because they have understood that this is a government that works for the present, but fundamentally for the future.”
