Voting extended in Mendoza

The election in Mendoza province was officially closed at 6pm, but many schools remained open due to the number of people who remained inside the buildings waiting to cast their votes.

In Mendoza province people vote for 155 posts between president and vice-president; governor and vice-governor; national lawmakers; provincial lawmakers and senators, mayors and municipal councillors; and also the approval of a provincial Constitution reform regarding the future modifications of the Magna Carta.

According to the poll station authorities, the delays “were due to the time that the people took in the polling booths, the election of the Constitutional Reform, and that the size of the envelopes was smaller than the ballots.”
