Las Leonas reach semis after thrashing Barbados

Argentina’s female hockey team, Las Leonas, thrashed Barbados 19-0, and achieved the semi-finals of the 2011 Guadalajara Pan American Games.

Soledad García was the main scorer with four goals, while Carla Rebecchi and Luciana Aymar netted three; Rosario Luchetti and Noel Barrionuevo scored two; and Sofía Maccari, María D’Elía, Delfina Merino, Josefina Sruoga and Rocío Sánchez Moccia netted one goal each.

The team coached by Carlos Retegui reached the semi-finals of the tournament that will be played on Wednesday; and if they pass to the finals, then it will define its passport to London 2012 against United States once more.
