Teachers call 48-hr strike in protest of City Gov't bill

Teachers in the City of Buenos Aires have called a 48-hour strike on Wednesday and Thursday in protest of the City government’s bill intending to eliminate Classification Boards and for the full recognition of the City’s Teacher Statute.

Gathered under the Education Workers Union (UTE) and Middle and Superior Education Teachers Association (ADEMYS) will enact the measure, which is supported “by most of the unions,” a UTE source said.

Teachers will march towards the City Legislature on Thursday at 1 pm.
