Putin says Russia wants friendly ties with West
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said in remarks broadcast that Moscow wants friendly ties with the West and other nations.
In a televised interview in which he discussed his plan to return to the presidency in an election next year, Putin said his foreign policy would be based on the need to protect Russia's interests but suggested he should not be labelled a hawk.
