Eric Clapton makes long-awaited return to BA stage
After a ten year absence, British singer and guitarist Eric Clapton will make his long-awaited return to the Argentine stage tomorrow, where he will perform with his band at River Plate stadium. The legendary musician is on tour currently promoting his new album.
Clapton, 66, comes to Buenos Aires clad with world renowned musicians including drummer Steve Gadd, bass player Willie Weeks, and pianists Chris Stainton and Tim Carmon on keyboards. Backing singers, Michelle John and Sharon White will be accompanying Clapton throughout the show.
Clapton is expected to take to the stage around 10 pm at Monumental stadium, following a performance by Guasones who will be supporting.
The singer/guitarist will play at River tomorrow after arriving from Brazil, and before moving on to Chile.
In addition to introducing his new cd – the first new material in five years – Clapton will share with Monumental stadium some of his classic hits such as, “Layla,” “Wonderful Tonight,”
